WELCOME
TO ALEY
Using
the Friendship Register - In each
pew is a red folder containing the attendance
register. As the register is passed along your
pew we ask that each person write their name.
When the pad has reached the end of the pew please
pass it back - make note of the names of those
seated on your pew so you can give them a warm
personal greeting at the close of the service.
If you
are a first time guest at worship
with us today, would you please help us get to
know you by giving your address and phone number
as you sign the attendance register. Please request
from the usher a Welcome Folder of information
about Aley Church and the ministries we provide.
Children
are welcome in worship. There are
Children's Moments each Sunday in the 8:30 and
9:45 services. Children 4 years old through Fifth
Grade are invited to go to the children's activity
for the remainder of the worship hour. Nursery
care is provided for infants. Childcare and Christian
Education is available for children through 3
years old in the Toddler area.
About
the Offering - Those of us who
have committed our lives to Christ give out of
love to support His work through Aley Church.
If you are visiting with us, please don't feel
an obligation to give. As our guest, we hope you
receive something from being here today!
Hospitality
Center
The fellowship room be
designated the Hospitality Center on Sunday
mornings for the purpose of providing a place
for visiting and mingling, welcoming of newcomers,
distribution of information and sign-ups, and
fund-raising projects. It is intended that this
will eliminate or minimize the need to use the
narthex, lower entrance, and hallways for these
purposes
Holy Communion
The Sacrament of
the Lords Supper is celebrated on the First
Sunday of the Month in each worship service. The
communion elements are served in the pews or by
intinction. In keeping with our United Methodist
tradition the communion is open to all who love
their neighbors, seek forgiveness for their sin,
and desire to commune with God.
Special Services
Special holy
day worship opportunities are held throughout
the year for the beginning of Advent, Christmas
Eve, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter and
other special occasions.
Baptism
The Sacrament
of Baptism initiates one into the fellowship
of Christs Church (for United Methodists)
and is observed in the context of the worshipping
congregation on Sunday mornings. Anyone desiring
baptism for oneself or ones child, should
arrange a prior consultation with the pastor.
As a prerequisite for infant baptism it is important
that the parents be Christian disciples actively
involved in worship and the life of the congregation.
Weddings
Aley Church
is pleased to make its facilities available
for wedding ceremonies. The wedding ceremony
is a service of Christian worship and one of
the most sacred moments in the life of the two
being married. Wedding ceremonies can be arranged
based on the availability of the church and
the pastors schedule. Guidelines for planning
your wedding at Aley are available in the church
office. Please call the pastor to arrange an
appointment to discuss your wedding plans and
to reserve the church for your wedding date.
